Widow Support

Widowhood remains a significant challenge within the Ummah, with millions of sisters struggling as impoverished widows and single mothers.

The Islamic ruling is that after the husband, the responsibility of her assistance and maintenance falls on the son, father, and brother(s) respectively. Failing that, the responsibility falls on the community around her. Failing that the responsibility is on the Muslims as a whole.

For those with children to care for, earning a livelihood becomes even more difficult, especially in countries where no support is available. By sponsoring a widow and her children, you can help ease their hardships by ensuring their basic needs are met.

Alhamdulillah, Our Ummah Trust currently supporting 12 Widows each year, helping to safeguard their imaan and providing opportunities where none existed. Our goal is to expand this support to 100 widows annually.

It cost £30 per month to support a widow.

We are currently assisting widows in Bangladesh, Palestine, and the most vulnerable communities.

Zakah, Sadaqah and Lillah can be given for this project.
